Shri Firhad Hakim is the honourable Minister in charge of the Urban Development and the Municipal Affairs Department of Government of West Bengal. He is the sitting member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, elected from the Kolkata Port constituency in the West Bengal state assembly election, 2011. Sri Firhad Hakim has also taken the responsibility of the Task Force Committee of Rabindra Tirtha as the honourable Chairman of this committee.
Shri Jogen Chowdhury is an eminent painter and considered an important painter of 21st century India. He lives and works in Santiniketan. He graduated from the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata and subsequently at École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris in 1967. He has immense contribution in inspiring young artists of India. Jogen Chowdhury had developed his individual style after his return from Paris. His most famous paintings are in ink, water colour and pastel. He has painted in oil medium as well.
Shri Subhaprasanna is a renowned artist, born in Kolkata in 1947. He graduated from the Indian College of Arts (Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata) in 1969. He was an active member of the ''Calcutta Painters'' group. The city of Kolkata has always figured prominently in his work. His themes come from his personal interactions with its urban milieu - its sickness and sordidness, its violence and vulnerability and all that compounds its existential agony. In the 1960s and 1970s his work was influenced by the turbulence and political violence of Kolkata.
Shri Dwijen Mukhopadhyay is a singer and music director of India, who has been working in the field of music for the last six decades. He is an accomplished performer of Rabindrasangeet, Bengali basic songs, Bengali and Hindi film songs. He has recorded more than 1500 songs, of which about 800 are songs of Rabindranath Tagore. He has also directed music in Bengali feature films and composed music for popular Bengali basic songs.
Smt. Saoli Mitra is a Bengali theatre and film actress. She played the role of Bangabala in Ritwik Ghatak's Jukti Takko Aar Gappo. She is daughter of legendary figure of Bengali theatre Shri Sombhu Mitra and Srimati Tripti Mitra. In 2011 She was also one chairperson of Rabindra Shardhoshato Janmabarsha Udjapon Samiti.
Joy Goswami is widely considered as one of the most important Bengali poets of his generation. After a long period of writing in little magazines and periodicals, his writing was published in the Desh Patrika. This brought his immediate critical acclaim and so long after his first poetry collection was published, named Christmas o Sheeter Sonnetguchchho (Sonets of Christmas and Winter). He has received the Anita-Sunil Basu Award from the Bangla Academy, Govt of W.B. the prestigious Ananda Purashkar in 1989 for Ghumiyechho, Jhaupata? (Have you slept, Pine leaf?) and the Sahitya Akademi Award, 2000 for his anthology Pagali tomara sange(With you, O crazy girl).
Sri Debashis Sen is the honourable Principal Secretary of the Department of Urban Development, Govt of West Bengal. He is also the Chairman of WBHIDCO and Convenor of the Task Force Committee for Rabindra Tirtha. Sri Sen is an IAS of West Bengal Cadre of IAS batch of 1985. Before taking charge of Urban Development Department, Sri Debashis Sen had carried important roles in various sectors for the state administration. He had played a remarkable role as the Chief Election Commissioner of West Bengal. He was also the Managing Director of WBPDCL.
