As the police suggest elaborate security measures, the Poet has all the inmates of Santiniketan removed to Sriniketan for the period of the visit, the Governor going round the deserted institution. The same evening the Poet leaves for Benaras to attend the Convocation.

Tagore delivers the Convocation Address at Benaras Hindu University. The University confers on him the degree of D. Lit. (Honoris Causa).

Leaves for Allahabad by car.

Addresses the students at the Senate Hall of the University.

Leaves for Lahore.

Addresses the Punjab Students' Fifth Annual Conference on 15th and 17th February.

Gives a recitation of his poems at the YMCA. Also meets the leaders of the Sikh community and visits the Gurdwara.
